Stock that is already on the books

Every unit in and out posts its journal entry in the same transaction as the movement, at weighted average cost. Stock and the ledger move together, because they are written together.

  • Weighted average cost
  • Cost of sale with the invoice
  • Short dispatch refused
  • Reorder points
  • In from goods received and bills
  • Out on invoices and delivery orders
  • Back in on credit note returns

Costing

Each receipt moves the average

Goods in at a new price blend into the cost of what is already on the shelf. The next sale is costed at that average, with no layers to keep and nothing to recalculate at month end.

  • Cost and quantity kept per item
  • Cost of goods sold debited when the sale posts

Dispatch

You can't ship what isn't there

An invoice takes its stock and posts the cost of sale with it. Dispatch more than you hold on a delivery order or a stock operation and Cynco refuses it and says how much is available.

  • Cost of sale posted with the invoice
  • Delivery orders can't take stock below zero
